The Newsletter
A note from the farm, when there is something worth saying.
Pork and lamb are ready when the animals are ready, not on a date we can publish months ahead, and the only fair way to tell people is to tell everyone at once. So there is a newsletter now — built the way we would want one built if it were our own address being handed over.
What that means in practice
We write when something has actually happened. A lot goes on out here that is only interesting to us, and you will not hear about most of it. Some months there will be nothing at all. When the pigs go to the abattoir, or the lambs are ready, or the season turns hard enough to be worth describing — that is when an email goes out.
We are not going to promise a schedule we would then have to fill. Anyone who has been on a farm's list that suddenly started arriving every Tuesday knows what that becomes.
Pick what you want to hear about
These are separate lists, not one list with labels on it. Tick only the ones you want and the others will never reach you. You can change your mind later, one topic at a time, without leaving altogether.
What we keep, and what we do not
The list holds your email address, the topics you chose, the moment you confirmed, and the address you confirmed from. That is the whole record. No name, because we do not need one to write to you.
There is no tracking of any kind. No invisible image that tells us you opened it. No links rewritten to route your click through a counter first. We could not tell you who read the last one, because we did not keep that. What we can see is how many messages were accepted and how many bounced, which is information about the mail rather than about you.
The list is not shared, sold, rented, or traded — not with anyone, for any reason. It is kept in its own database, separate from the contact form's messages and separate again from the membership system. Nobody who has ever written to us through this website has been added to it; the only way onto this list is the form above, and then the link in the email.

Leaving
Every email has an unsubscribe link and it works in one click — no login, no confirmation step, no asking why. Most email programs also show their own unsubscribe button at the top of a message, and that works too. You can drop a single topic and keep the rest.
You do not have to take our word for it before you sign up: the unsubscribe page is right here, and it works whether or not you can still find one of our emails. If you would rather deal with a person, write to us and we will take you off ourselves.
